Combo Hunts

Hi :
I'll describe how our "combo" hunt works.  Our duck/goose/pheasant hunt is new and is becoming quite popular.  Looking at our peak migrations, the best time to hunt it is late October through December 1st.  We own our own 165-acre private marsh and it is reserved for our customers.  To assure better hunting, we book limited numbers of guests to hunt the marsh.  The sooner your reservations are made, the more apt you are to get your choice of dates.  The good news is our pheasant hunting is superb throughout the entire season.

Here's how the hunt works.   Ducks/geese are hunted for 1/2 day, either morning or afternoon as we assign you.  Hunting is done in assigned blinds and you hunt and call yourself over our decoys.  Hip  waders are essential, a retrieving dog is not.  Pheasants are hunted the other 1/2 day, starting at either 8:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m..  Our pheasant hunting ends at 4:30 by State law.  Regular State limits apply to ducks/geese and your pheasant limit is 3 rooster pheasant daily, possession limit of 12. 

No hunting is done between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. as you eat lunch and relocate to your next hunting area during that time. 

Since you are hunting  a different schedule from our other hunting plans, all meals are arranged for on your own.  You may either cook or dine at nearby restaurants.  All of our lodges are completely modern and set up for cooking.

your pheasant hunting plan. Your total additional licensing fees are approximately $100 and are available on the grounds. We accept credit cards for the 25% deposit.  Your hunt is scheduled when the deposit is made.  We then send you a complete contract.  That's all there is to it.  All things considered, this is probably ONE OF THE BEST HUNT VALUES in Iowa. 

Private facilities where pheasant, duck, goose and quail hunts can be done in combination on the same grounds are very rare in Iowa.  By the way, a good hunting dog is a requirement for your pheasant and quail hunts.  If you do not have one, we can fix you up.
